New birds, walks, and don't forget...

We had a new arrival at our bird feeders. It is a Evening Grosbeak or for you latin scholars Coccothraustes vespertinus. The three didn't stay for long, but we hope they'll make us one of their frequent stops.

Also, a reminder that this weekend is the master gardeners sale here in Tacoma/Puyallup. It is right down the hill from me, but if you need directions, you can google the master gardener sale and it will give them much better than I can.

Last but not least, well not in my book, is a video of what's blooming in our neck of the woods. I love this time of year because everything is changing almost daily. The fruit trees are all in bloom and the tulips are in full swing!

  1. The Grosbeaks are wonderful. That's a new bird for me of course. I tried to view your video but it wouldn't play. I just got a message 'this video is private'.

    1. Thank you, I sometimes forget to change that setting. It should work now!

  2. It is awesome to watch everything change so much from one day to the next in the spring. I'm hoping I'll spot some of those Grosbeaks in my yard, too. I really enjoyed the flower walk through your property.

  3. I love it when the Grosbeaks arrive. They are such characters! I had my first goldfinch sighting this past week :)

    1. I love how all of the birds have different personalities. Some are more fiesty, while others like to have things nice and quiet before the'll start eating. Congrats on the goldfinches! They are starting to show up in 3s and 4s. I think they finally found our thistle feeder.

  4. What gorgeous little tweeters!! Bird sightings are always some of my favorite posts, love seeing who visits others gardens. I've had many Stella Jays visit lately, keeping the smaller birds at bay, but still beautiful!! Cheers Julia
